York County Republicans nominate full slate of State Legislative Candidates

As of Monday (3/15), all state legislative offices in York County have Republican candidates nominated for the 2010 election race. Last year the York County Republican Committee launched a “302010” campaign (30 candidates in 2010). There are thirty state legislative districts that represent York County (6 senate & 24 house). York County Republican Chairman, Ron Morrell said, “It was great to see the state Republican Party, the Senate and House Republican committees, the county committee and the town committees all working together to have a full slate of candidates not only in York County but across the state. People are energized and our message of fiscal responsibility is resonating with people at this critical time.”

Although there are sixteen counties in Maine, one fifth of the state senate seats and one seventh of the house seats are in York County. “York County can have a significant impact in electing a Republican majority in the Maine State Legislature this year,” Morrell said.
